As I begin decorating for Christmas this year, I’m loving how all my front door decorations are looking. It’s still a work in progress, but I thought I’d share a sneak peek. Whenever I go shopping this time of year, I tend to pick up another Christmas decor item. For this reason, it seems to be a continual process. Yet, I’m not mad about it. Come and see my front door decor for Christmas 2020 below!
the wreath
To begin with, I found a little cardinal at Michaels to clip on my door wreath. Along with the wreath, it is the inspiration for my front door decor. For this reason, I chose hues of bright reds and frosty whites.
I purchased a 30 in Starry Light Battery Operated Flocked Frasier Fir LED Pre-Lit Artificial Wreath with Timer from Home Depot. I’m going with a frosted garland and tree look, so this wreath was perfect! It also lights up and has a battery pack with a timer (this makes me so happy, can y’all relate?). Definitely, a wonderful feature, as I don’t have to worry about plugging anything in or remembering to turn on/off the battery pack at night. LOVE!
Making a Bow
I made a double-bow with glittery red and sparkly burlap to attach to the wreath. However, I didn’t realize when I purchased the red ribbon just how glittery it was! Most of the glitter ended up on my table as I was making the bow. Usually, I try to avoid too many glitter decorations (or ribbon), as I tend to find glitter all over my house for months after the holidays! Oh well! It made a pretty bow!
Look at the gold jingle bell picks and frosted berry picks from Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I’m so happy I found them! These were placed in the wreath to finish it off.
And just like that, my Christmas wreath was complete. Could that little cardinal be any cuter?!
lanterns & mats
I hit the jackpot finding decor at Kirkland’s. Not to mention, with holiday discounts and coupons, I was able to purchase them at a lower price. So satisfying!
When I saw these Christmas Red Floral LED Lanterns, I knew they would look so bright and cheery on each side of my front door. They are battery operated. I love the burlap ribbon and frosted greenery – perfect!
I had my eye on a Christmas doormat that had a script on it. I just had to get a new holiday rug, and this was it! So cute! The jute rug was perfect for layering underneath the Merry Christmas Script Door Mat.
I’m looking for some flocked mini trees to place on either side of the lanterns. Hopefully, I can find them for a good price at the end of the season. I’ll continue to look for just the right ones and maybe I’ll find them soon!
nature’s decor
How sweet are these little bushes we have in our landscaping by our front door? The bright red berries are so festive.
What is your favorite front door decor for Christmas this year?
Happy Holidays!
