Our Home Sweet TN Home
I have to share our Tennessee home with y’all! When I started my blog, I envisioned bringing you along on our journey of decorating and customizing our new home. We spent a few years in this home, and I felt like we were finally checking design projects off our list. It was fun to see all the progress of working from the ground up.
However, we sold our home this spring. You: “That was fast!” Me: “I know, right?!?” It was definitely a bittersweet process. There was so much I loved about this home, yet I’m excited for what’s ahead.
I’m fond of these pictures and the memories of our home and time spent in Tennessee. Even though we didn’t get to do all the projects we wanted to do and decorate it just the way we wanted, this was a lovely and wonderful home. Definite happy home vibes! Below, I’m excited to show you a lookbook of the building process and, of course, our beautiful home tour!
And, as a bonus, there are links to a few of the projects that we completed during our time in this home at the end of the post.
The Building Process: The Construction Lookbook
We purchased our house as a semi-custom home build. The neighborhood was a new community in the country. We were able to select a lot in the 1st phase of construction. I love the lot that we picked! It backed up to trees and open space, making it very private.
Since it was a semi-custom home, we were able to choose our lot, floor-plan, and design features and finishes.
Exterior Construction
Exterior Paint (Sherwin Williams):
- Oyster Bay SW6206 (siding)
- Ivory Lace SW 7013 (trim)
- Pewter Green SW 6208 (doors)
Exterior Brick:
- Walmack brick
Interior Construction & finishes
Paint – Interior (Sherwin Williams):
- Agreeable Gray SW 7029: All areas except for Master Bedroom and Master Bath.
- Alabaster SW 7008: Fireplace, doors, trim, and ceiling.
- Silverpointe SW 7653: Master Bedroom and Master Bath.
Flooring:
- Shaw Floorte Lazio Delfino, Vinyl “Wood”: Entry, Powder Room, Living Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room.
- Alpine 12X12 Grey Tile: Laundry Room.
- Passage Plank 6×24 Panama Tile: Master Bathroom and Upstairs Bathroom. (I was unable to find this tile. It may be discontinued? However, I found a comparable tile, the NAPA PLANK 6X24 VINTAGE tile.

The Home Tour
I have to credit Andrianna Surrency, who helped with decorating and staging our home before selling. You will see in the photos that she has a wonderful eye and made our house picture perfect! I’ve also included a few favorite items and where to find them!
The finished exterior of our house. My husband added the shutters on the window above the garage about seven months after we moved in. And, yep, he built them!
entry/foyer
How about that paneling, though? Interested in the paneling and decor in the entryway? Read more in the post, Our TN Home | Judges Paneling in the Entryway Project.
powder room
We had the Delta Cassidy Two Handle Centerset Bathroom Faucet installed in the Powder Room sink. When I tried to find this specific faucet online, it appears it may have been discontinued. We also installed these in the Master Bathroom and Upstairs Bathroom.
However, it appears that the center-set faucet and the handles may be sold as separate units. They are Delta Cassidy Champagne Bronze 4-in Centerset WaterSense Bathroom Sink Faucet with Drain and Delta Pair of Cassidy Metal Cross Handles for Bathroom Faucet in Champagne Bronze.
living room
The soaring ceiling height was a key feature of this room. Along with the fireplace!
The white rug was a true white, which was what I had been looking for. The downside? It was hard to keep clean with our two dogs, so we had to shampoo it frequently.
Plantation shutters were installed on all the downstairs windows, except for the dining room window. The large living room window was the last one to get shutters, and they were finally installed about a week before we closed on our house. They had been on order for a while, so we did get to enjoy them for a week or so!
The wood plantation shutters were custom ordered from Zinga’s, a local company in Tennessee.
The bricks on the fireplace are in a herringbone pattern and painted Alabaster SW 7008.
kitchen & dining
Kitchen Sink:
Kohler undermount single-bowl farmhouse kitchen sink with tall apron.
Kitchen Faucet:
Delta Cassidy 9197-CZ-DST Pull Down Touch Single Handle Kitchen Faucet with MagnaTite® Docking.
Original kitchen tile that we selected. We liked the tile but ended up having it replaced. See below.
New kitchen tile. Herringbone pattern on the tile matched the herringbone pattern on the fireplace bricks.
My kitchen sink was a favorite kitchen feature of mine. Not only was it a large sink, but it also looks great! We used Bar Keepers Friend to keep metal marks off the enameled cast iron. That stuff works like magic! We also used a stainless steel rack to avoid scratches.

I can’t tell you just how much I loved our dining room chandelier! I originally purchased it at Joss & Main.
The two cream colored chairs at the ends of the table were purchased through Sara Sells.

We ordered champagne bronze hooks, towel rings, toilet paper holders, and tank lever handles from Amazon to match the Delta faucets in the bathrooms. See the links below.

We found the gray and white cowhide rug at Sara Sells.
We added another closet to the bonus room and a barn door going into the bonus room. Interested in this project? Read about it in the post, Our TN Home | Custom Barn Door for Bonus Room Project.
office – upstairs
The office is such a wonderful space! All due to the custom shelves, window bench with file drawers, and crown molding. Interested in the project? See the post, Our TN Home | Custom Home Office Design | Shelves & Window Bench Project.

The Round Natural Beaded Wall Mirror is from Kirkland’s. I was so sad to leave this mirror behind!

I found the perfect shower curtain! It was a long 84″ curtain, had ruffles, and just what I was looking for!
Since I was not able to find a shower curtain rod in champagne bronze to match the other bathroom fixtures, I opted for a matte black rod.
patio
I thought these fringed pillow covers were so cute and sweet. They are included in my post for Amazon Home Decor Finds: 30 Best Neutrals for 2021.
I purchased the black and white Moroccan tile pillow covers on Etsy. I looked everywhere for pillowcases like these, so I was excited to find them on Etsy!
My husband gave me that amazing porch swing for my birthday. It has an enormous orthopedic cushion with a waterproof cover. So comfy and inviting! (Can’t you imagine sippin’ iced tea and reading a book here?)
Etsy is a wonderful place to find unique pieces. I thought this Hey Y’all Doormat was a perfect touch of Southern! Sorry for the messy door jam and such…our dogs used our patio A LOT!
Thank you for visiting our Tennessee home! I was so happy to share the construction lookbook and our beautiful home tour with y’all.
It was fun for me to tour our house, as well. We have happy memories of our time in Tennessee and in this home!
