The painted white Judges Paneling in the Entryway Project added so much character to our small entryway/foyer. Paneling can add so much detail and give an expensive look to any home. However, it doesn’t have to be overly expensive. In our case, my husband was the craftsman. Not only did he save us some money, but he also did an amazing job with his craftsmanship and knocked this entryway out of the park!
I was so happy with the finished result!

**Each joint contains a biscuit for strength and to resist warping. All the joints were glued. As a result, the biscuits keep the panels locked together, so they move as one unit.
**All vertical and horizontal pieces have a 1/4″ rabbit cut into them, enabling the plywood panels to sit behind them.
Paint
Sherwin Williams, SW 7008 Alabaster, semi-gloss. This was the same paint used on all the trim throughout our house.
The rug is from Ruggable. I love the simplicity of the rug. It works well for our home, as we have two dogs!
We incorporated an existing small black bench, pillow, and a wooden piece of wall art with a script. A new light and ceiling medallion, brass hooks, and rug completed the look. We painted the ceiling medallion in SW Alabaster, semi-gloss.
The perfect brass hooks. So dear to me! Purchased at World Market.
A new light fixture from Pottery Barn.
The finished look! I definitely love how it turned out! As shown above, it added so much charm to this space.
On the front door, we added 4-inch slat real wood plantation shutters. They were custom ordered from Zinga’s, a local company in Tennessee. Like a piece of custom furniture, they can add an expensive look and feel to a home. We were so happy with the way they provided privacy yet also let in light. This design feature really complemented the custom-cased farmhouse window trim on the main level of our home.
